Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) has announced that its subsidiary Vyksa Steel Works produced more than two million mt of various kinds of pipes in 2017, rising by 15 percent year on year.

In particular, in 2017 Vyksa Steel Works’ production of large diameter (LD) pipes increased by 16 percent year on year to 930,000 mt.

Alexander Barykov, Vyksa Steel Works’ managing director, stated that the dynamics of the company were dependent on the level of demand from the main consumers of its steel pipes and railway wheels, and added that at the end of 2017 it recorded an increase in outputs of almost all types of products, except for production at its rolling mill-5000, which was affected by the oil and gas companies’ revisions of their investment plans.
