Volgorechensk Pipe Plant’s steel pipe output rises slightly in January-May

In January-May of the current year, Russia-based Volgorechensk Pipe Plant, a subsidiary of giant Russian gas company Gazprom, increased its steel pipe output by one percent compared to the same period of last year to 65,600 mt, while its steel pipe shipments increased by 4.3 percent year on year to 65,000 mt.

In the given period, production of tubing decreased by 18 percent year on year to 19,200 mt, while shipments of tubing declined by 22.3 percent to 18,400 mt. In the same period, production of casing decreased by six percent to 32,000 mt, whereas shipments of casing increased by 12.6 percent to 32,100 mt. Production and shipment of pipes for general purposes both increased by 1.9 times, to 14,400 mt and 14,200 mt respectively.
