In January this year, Vietnam's finished steel output totaled 502,200 mt, increasing by 1.4 percent year on year, according to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).

The increase in question is the first after five consecutive months of year-on-year decrease. In January, most domestic finished steel producers were operating at 80 percent capacity utilization rate. Meanwhile, Vietnam's finished steel import volume in January was unchanged as compared to December last year.
