Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) is seeking greater customs clearance concerning the possible circumvention of the 21.18-36.33 percent preliminary antidumping (AD) measures imposed on imports of H-beam from China.

Many companies commented on the need for more customs clearance to distinguish H-beam and I-beam because these two products have many characteristics similar in appearance and are easy to confuse.

Therefore, in order to ensure the effective enforcement of preliminary anti-dumping measures, the Ministry of Industry and Trade wants to distinguish between H-beam and I-beam to avoid circumvention  of preliminary antidumping measure on H-beam by using I-beam codes.

On March 21, Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade imposed provisional antidumping (AD) duty on H-beam imported into Vietnam from China.
