According to local media reports, France-based pipe manufacturer Vallourec has produced its last steel pipe and shut down its seamless steel pipe mill in Düsseldorf. Production at its Mülheim mill in Germany was also stopped at the beginning of this month.

Vallourec took over the two mills from Mannesmann Group about 20 years ago and it had been manufacturing pipe at the mills ever since.

In May last year, the company had announced its decision to shut down the Düsseldorf and Mülheim mills for economic reasons.
