Brazilian iron-ore mining giant, Vale, announced Thursday that it has received an operation license for the N5 Sul pit, which is part of the N5 mine in the Serra Norte mining site in Carajás, Pará, Brazil. The addition of this new operation will support the quality enhancement in the iron ore production in Carajás in future years, according to Vale.  The new operation license will allow Vale to open a new ore body in the N5 mine which is where the highest ferrous content can be found in Vale's portfolio.
