US and Canadian rig counts drop again week-on-week

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending November 20 the US rig count decreased by 10 to 757, after a four-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count stayed unchanged at 193, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 10 to 564. The overall rig count is still down by 1,172 from 1,929 rigs during the same week a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count also decreased by 10 in the week ending November 20 to 166, after a nine-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 228 from 434 rigs during the same week a year ago.
