US tool steel exports rise 5.9 percent in July

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tool steel totaled 10,370 mt in July, up 5.9 percent from June and up 91.3 percent from July 2016 levels. By value, tool steel exports totaled $14.6 million in July, compared to $14.8 million in the previous month and $9.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most tool steel to Mexico in July with 9,455 mt, compared to 9,223 mt in June and 4,850 mt in July 2016. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) of US export tool steel in July.
