US Steel issues more WARN notices to Lone Star Tubular

Tuesday, 21 April 2015 01:13:01 (GMT+3)   |   San Diego
After laying off approximately 320 employees in February, US Steel’s Lone Star Tubular Operations in Longview, Texas issued Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications (WARN) to 579 additional employees on Friday. The notice does not mean the employees will definitely be laid off, but that it is a possibility.

According to the letter to employees, layoffs will begin June 17 and continue through July 24.

“This action is a result of a decline in tubular market conditions, which is impacting the plant’s products,” the company said in the letter.
