Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based United States Steel Corporation announced Tuesday the addition of a new product to its lineup of construction steels, ACRYLUME CFTM Coated Sheet-a coated flat-rolled steel that has a chromium-free clear polymer coating.

US Steel's new ACRYLUME CFTM is the nation's first chromium-free acrylic coating on Galvalume, and meets all US environmental regulations as well the European Union's environmental directives. The new product has the same benefits and uses as traditional ACRYLUME® and will continue to be available to customers for commonly used applications such as metal roofing and siding. Both ACRYLUME CFTM and the traditional ACRYLUME have a clear polymer coating on them that help to minimize staining and discoloration, and neither requires lubricants prior to roll forming.
