US standard pipe imports up 21.4 percent in March

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 67,850 mt in March 2023, up 21.4 percent from February and down 16.6 percent from March 2022 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $87.9 million in March 2023, compared to $73.1 million in February and $126.2 million in March 2022.

The US imported the most standard pipe from Canada in March, with 16,726 mt, compared to 13,445  mt in February and 17,105 mt in March 2022. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in March include UAE, with 11,662 mt; Thailand, with 8,195 mt; South Korea, with 7,249 mt; and Mexico, with 5,747 mt.
