US standard pipe imports down 3.7 percent in June

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 64,489 mt in June 2023, down 3.7 percent from May and down 4.8 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $85.5 million in June 2023, compared to $86.4 million in May and $108.1 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most standard pipe from Canada in June, with 15,769 mt, compared to 16,542 mt in May and 14,762 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in June include South Korea, with 7,571 mt; UAE, with 7,571 mt; Spain, with 5,763 mt; and Vietnam, with 4,165 mt.
