US standard pipe imports down 17.9 percent in September

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of standard pipe totaled 56,488 mt in September 2023, down 17.9 percent from August and down 20.4 percent from September 2022 levels. By value, standard pipe imports totaled $72.9 million in September 2023, compared to $86.3 million in August and $103.8 million in September 2022.

The US imported the most standard pipe from Canada in September, with 11,376 mt, compared to 11,272 mt in August and 13,539 in September 2022. Other top sources of imported standard pipe in September include UAE, with 12,141 mt; South Korea, with 7,314 mt; Mexico, with 5,001 mt; and Saudi Arabia, with 4,874 mt.
