US rig count stable as Canada’s falls again

According to the latest report from Baker Hughes, for the week ending April 5, the US rig count was steady from the previous week at 1,979 and was up 197 year-on-year. The oil rig count increased by 11 to 1,329 (up 443 year-on-year), but was offset by an 11-rig drop in gas rigs, which are down 242 year-over-year.

Meanwhile, Canada's rig count registered another substantial drop last week, falling by 69 to 187, and down four from the same week a year ago.
