According to import license data released by the US Department of Commerce, in June the license volume for rebar imports to the country surged by 62.92 percent as compared to license data for the previous month, amounting to 41,554 metric tons. Comparing to preliminary census data for May 2010, in June US rebar imports indicated an increase of 116.81 percent.
In June, the rebar import license volume from Mexico decreased by 5.86 percent, totaling 16,906 metric tons, while the rebar import license volume from Turkey in June came to 23,270 metric tons, increasing by 4.46 times, both compared to license import data for May this year.
