US rebar exports up 6.8 percent in August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of rebar totaled 24,902 mt in August 2023, up 6.8 percent from July and up 38.3 percent from August 2022. By value, rebar exports totaled $20.8 million in August, compared to $21.1 million in the previous month and $19.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in August with 22,517 mt, compared to 17,886 mt in July and 13,698 mt in August 2022. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US rebar exports in August.
