US rebar exports rise 22.5 percent in June

According to US Department of Commerce census export data, US exports of rebar totaled 29,205 mt in June, up 22.5 percent from May and up 19.5 percent from June 2016 levels. By value, rebar exports totaled $18.9 million in June, compared to $14.7 million in the previous month and $14.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most rebar to Canada in June with 25,452 mt, compared to 22,229 mt in May and 21,807 mt in June 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 1,019 mt; and Dominican Republic, with 1,600 mt. There were no other major destinations (over 1,000 mt) for US rebar exports in June.
