US plates in coil exports up 6.6 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of plates in coil totaled 40,310 mt in March 2023, up 6.6 percent from February and up 9.3 percent from March 2022. By value, plates in coil exports totaled $41.2 million in March, compared to $37.9 million in the previous month and $45.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most plates in coil to Mexico in March with 27,965 mt, compared to 27,866 mt in February and 44,288 mt in March 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 11,614 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US plates in coil for exports in March.
