US OCTG imports up 30.1 percent in March

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 301,271 mt in March 2023, up 30.1 percent from February and up 54.5 percent from March 2022 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $617.5 million in March 2023, compared to $500.3 million in February and $315.1 million in March 2022.

The US imported the most OCTG from South Korea in March, with 57,002 mt, compared to 54,780 mt in February and 40,675 mt in March 2022. Other top sources of imported OCTG in March include Thailand, with 35,253 mt; Canada, with 29,796 mt; Austria, 23,130 mt; and Taiwan, with 22,262 mt.
