US OCTG imports down 2.9 percent in June

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 157,503 mt in June 2023, down 2.9 percent from May and down 17.9 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $337.6 million in June 2023, compared to $339.4 million in May and $321.6 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most OCTG from South Korea in June, with 42,252 mt, compared to 21,614 mt in May and 30,434 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported OCTG in June include Canada, with 20,351 mt; Saudi Arabia, with 19,288 mt; Thailand, with 13,796 mt; and Mexico, with 11,329 mt.
