US OCTG exports drop 22.3 percent in July

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 24,921 mt in July, down 22.3 percent from June but up 47.7 percent from July 2016 levels. By value, OCTG exports totaled $41.3 million in July, compared to $54.5 million in the previous month and $35.4 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in July with 19,134 mt, compared to 24,056 mt in June and 11,769 mt in July 2016. Other destinations include Mexico, with 1,956 mt. There were no other significant destinations (over 1,000 mt) of US export OCTG in July.
