US OCTG exports down 11.5 percent in May

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 16,443 mt in May 2023, down 11.5 percent from April but down 13.2 percent from May 2022. By value, OCTG exports totaled $34.8 million in May, compared to $39.9 million in the previous month and $38.2 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most OCTG to Canada in May with 12,093 mt, compared to 13,489 mt in April and 14,194 mt in May 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 2,192 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US OCTG exports in May.
