US mechanical tubing imports up 7.2 percent in April

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 57,615 mt in April 2023, up 7.2 percent from March and up 14.9 percent from April 2022 levels. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $121.9 million in April 2023, compared to $100.3 million in March and $103.8 million in April 2022.

The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in April, with 14,723 mt, compared to 16,519 mt in March and 18,737 mt in April 2022. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in April include Canada, with 10,117 mt; China, with 7,058 mt; Germany, with 5,828 mt; and Romania, with 3,961 mt.
