US mechanical tubing imports down 14.8 percent in June

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of mechanical tubing totaled 47,939 mt in June 2023, down 14.8 percent from May and down 15.3 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, mechanical tubing imports totaled $91.9 million in June 2023, compared to $109.4 million in May and $122.1 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most mechanical tubing from Mexico in June, with 15,135 mt, compared to 15,452 mt in May and 21,655 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported mechanical tubing in June include Canada, with 8,178 mt; Germany, with 6,779 mt; India, with 3,819 mt; and China, with 3,348 mt.
