US line pipe imports up 24.3 percent in June

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of line pipe totaled 76,482 mt in June 2023, up 24.3 percent from May and up 35.3 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, line pipe imports totaled $107.3 million in June 2023, compared to $106.3 million in May and $97.2 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most line pipe from South Korea in June, with 36,073 mt, compared to 33,181 mt in May and 20,152 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported line pipe in June include Ukraine, with 9,530 mt; Canada, with 7,837 mt; Mexico, with 3,499 mt; and United Kingdom, with 3,112 mt.
