US ITC determination on steel beams from two countries
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) announced its decision regarding the existing duties on structural steel beams imported from Japan and South Korea. On May 1, 2005, the ITC instituted five-year reviews (“sunset”) concerning the countervailing and antidumping duty orders on imports of structural steel beams imported from Japan and South Korea. ITC used the sunset reviews to determine whether the revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. As a result of these reviews, the ITC determined that revocation of the existing countervailing duty and antidumping duty orders on structural steel beams from Japan and South Korea would not be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. Accordingly, the existing orders on subject merchandise from Japan and South Korea will be revoked.
