On August 1, 2006, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) instituted a five-year review (“sunset”) concerning the antidumping duty order on foundry coke imported from
China.
The US ITC used the sunset review to determine whether the revocation of the order would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
As a result of the review, the ITC has determined that revocation of the existing antidumping duty order on foundry coke from
China would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries.
As a result of the ITC's affirmative determination and the US Department of Commerce's (DOC) recent affirmative finding, the existing order on imports of foundry coke from
China will remain in place.
