On Thursday, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) made its final determination in the antidumping (AD) investigation of steel wire garment hangers from Taiwan. The ITC made an affirmative determination by a vote of six to zero.

This means that the US Department of Commerce (DOC) will issue a formal antidumping order on garment hangers from Taiwan. The final dumping margins range between 69.98 percent and 125.43 percent.

There are companion AD and countervailing duty (CVD) investigations of garment hangers from Vietnam which are on a different schedule. The DOC will announce its final dumping and subsidy determinations on December 17, and the ITC will make its final determination on January 16, 2013.
