The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the alleged dumping margins in its antidumping (AD) duty investigation regarding imports of rebar from Japan, Taiwan and Turkey and alleged subsidy rate regarding countervailing duty (CVD) investigation on imports of these products from Turkey.

Accordingly, the alleged dumping margins range between 204.91 percent and 209.46 percent for Japan and stand at 84.66 percent for Taiwan and 66.55 percent for Turkey, while the estimated subsidy rate is above de minimis for Turkey.

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) is scheduled to make its preliminary injury determinations by November 4, 2016. If the USITC determines that there is a reasonable indication that rebar imports from Japan, Taiwan and Turkey materially injure or threaten material injury to the domestic industry, the investigations will continue and the US DOC will be scheduled to make its preliminary CVD determination in December this year and its preliminary AD investigation determinations in February 2017.

The products in question currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7213.10.00, 7214.20.00, and 7228.30.80.
