US iron ore production rises significantly in Q2

US iron ore production in the second quarter of this year amounted to 12 million metric tons, climbing by 95 percent year on year and up 21 percent as compared to the first quarter of this year, mainly due to the rising trend in raw steel production, according to the information provided by US Geological Survey (USGS).
 
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year US iron ore output nearly doubled as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, totaling 22 million metric tons.
