According to the latest figures from the
US International Trade Commission,
US iron and steel
scrap exports totaled 1,217,555 mt in December, an 8.3 percent increase month-on-month and a 1.6 percent increase year-on-year.
Turkey was the largest recipient of
US iron and
scrap exports in December with 298,596 mt, which is up 4.3 percent month-on-month but down 35.5 percent year-on-year. Other notable destinations in December include: China, with 142,647 mt; Taiwan, with 134,615 mt; Kuwait, with 128,316 mt; and Mexico, with 124,780 mt.

scrap exports totaled $374.6 million in December, a 15.2 percent increase compared to November and a 25.7 percent increase compared to December 2015.
