US invites comments on OCTG sunset dispute of Argentina

Having received request from Argentina on October 7, 2002, for consultations of the sunset review determinations on its oil country tubular goods (OCTG) anti-dumping duty order the US is now inviting writen comments on this dispute until February 21, 2003. The dispute arises from Argentina arguing that the US sunset review determinations are inconsistent with certain clauses of the GATT and WTO Agreements. Argentina believes that the DOC lacks sufficient evidence to base its decisions on, with regard to its determinations that termination of order might result in recurrence or continuation of dumping. The continuation of the anti-dumping duty order on OCTG imports to the US from Argentina was decided being effective from July 25,2001 as a result of the DOC final determinations of the sunset review.
