According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheet totaled 83,645 mt in August 2023, up 1.3 percent from July and up 50.7 percent from August 2022. By value, HRC exports totaled $89.9 million in August, compared to $90.4 million in the previous month and $55.8 million the same month last year.
The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in August with 52,047 mt, compared to 60,646 mt in July and 36,264 mt in August 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 31,463 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in August.
