US HRC exports down 4.1 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled sheet totaled 73,301 mt in March 2023, down 4.1 percent from February but up 8.9 percent from March 2022. By value, HRC exports totaled $68.9 million in March, compared to $69.6 million in the previous month and $63.0 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in March with 54,511 mt, compared to 55,859 mt in February and 39,262 mt in March 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 18,532 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC not for exports in March.
