US HDG exports up 54.5 percent in March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 122,291 mt in March 2023, up 54.5 percent from February and up 2.3 percent from March 2022. By value, HDG exports totaled $160.9 million in March, compared to $144.2 million in the previous month and $170.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in March with 68,865 mt, compared to 62,039 mt in February and 65,502 mt in March 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 51,525 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in March.
