US HDG exports down 5.6 percent in June

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheet and strip totaled 127,669 mt in June 2023, down 5.6 percent from May but up 18.7 percent from June 2022. By value, HDG exports totaled $174.9 million in June, compared to $188.7 million in the previous month and $153.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in June with 66,489 mt, compared to 71,311 mt in May and 56,174 mt in June 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 60,266 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in June.
