US HDG exports down 10.7 percent in April

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot dipped galvanized sheets and strip totaled 109,191 mt in April 2023, down 10.7 percent from March and down 4.6 percent from April 2022. By value, HDG exports totaled $147.9 million in April, compared to $160.8 million in the previous month and $165.5 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HDG to Canada in April with 59,675 mt, compared to 68,865 mt in March and 65,502 mt in April 2022. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 48,864 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HDG exports in April.
