US Freight TSI continues to rise

The US Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics announced Wednesday that its Freight Transportation Services Index (TSI) increased 0.9 percent in September from August, reaching the highest level since July 2008.

Freight shipments were also up 4.4 percent year-on-year in September and the index increased 2.5 percent over the first nine months of 2011.
