US drawn wire imports down 14.1 percent in June

According to final census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of drawn wire totaled 46,068 mt in June 2023, down 14.1 percent from May and down 16.7 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, drawn wire imports totaled $67.2 million in June 2023, compared to $80.1 million in May and $96.2 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most drawn wire from Mexico in June, with 17,149 mt, compared to 19,363 mt in May and 19,607 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported drawn wire in June include Canada, with 10,175 mt; China, with 8,284 mt; Vietnam, with 2,534 mt; and South Korea, with 2,372 mt.
