US DOC rules to maintain duties on Chinese light-walled pipe

On Thursday, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the final results of its expedited sunset review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China

As expected, the DOC determined that revocation of this order would be likely to lead to the continuation or recurrence of net countervailable subsidies.

On Wednesday, the DOC made affirmative determinations in the sunset review of the antidumping (AD) orders on light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China, Korea, Mexico, and Turkey.

The US International Trade Commission is conducting a full sunset review of these orders.  A negative injury determination by the Commission will result in revocation of the order, regardless of the DOC's decision.
