On Monday, November 09, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping (AD) order against carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod from Trinidad and Tobago.

The review covers one producer/exporter - ArcelorMittal Point Lisas Ltd. - and its affiliate - ArcelorMittal International America LLC (collectively "ArcelorMittal) - during the period from October 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008.

The DOC has preliminarily calculated a weighted-average dumping margin of 23.95 percent for ArcelorMittal. This margin compares with ArcelorMittal's current dumping duty deposit rate of 1.56 percent.

The DOC plans to complete this review by March 2010, and the current dumping duty deposit rate will remain in effect until the DOC's final results are published in the Federal Register.
