On February 1, 2006, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated the sunset reviews of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on grain-oriented silicon electrical steel from
Italy and the antidumping duty (AD) orders on the same product from
Italy and
Japan.
The DOC initiated the reviews to determine whether the revocation of these orders would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industry.
Since the domestic parties did not participate in these sunset reviews, the DOC decided to revoke these AD and CVD orders.
