On August 1, 2006, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated sunset reviews of the countervailing duty orders (CVD) on certain hot-rolled carbon steel flat products from Argentina, India, Indonesia, South Africa, and Thailand. On the basis of the notices of intent to participate and adequate substantive responses filed on behalf of domestic interested parties and inadequate responses from respondent interested parties, the DOC conducted expedited (120-day) sunset reviews of these orders. As a result of these sunset reviews, the DOC has found that revocation of these CVD orders would be likely to lead to a continuation or recurrence of countervailable subsidies at the levels indicated below:
