On October 25, 2005, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated an antidumping duty administrative review for imports of steel concrete reinforcing bars from South Korea. The review covers the period September 1, 2004, through August 31, 2005.

In the preliminary results dated October 10, 2006, the DOC determined to rescind the review with respect to Hanbo Iron & Steel, INI Steel and Kosteel Co Ltd since the producers certified that they had no shipments of the subject merchandise to the US during the period of review. Moreover, the DOC determined that the following duty margins exist for the remaining producers subject to the review:

Producer/exporter

Margin

Dongkuk Steel Mills

0.00%

Korea Iron and Steel Co

0.00%

Hwanyoung Steel Ind Co Ltd

0.00%

Dongil Industries Co Ltd

102.28%

Based on the comments on the preliminary results, the DOC has decided not to make any changes in the preliminary results. Accordingly, the final results of this review do not differ from the preliminary results.
