On February 19, the United States Department of Commerce (DOC) announced that it extended the time limit for the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping (AD) duty order against silicon metal from China.
On July 30, 2008, the DOC initiated the administrative review of the AD duty order on silicon metal from China. The review in question covers the period June 1, 2007, through May 31, 2008. The preliminary results of this review were expected to be issued no later than March 2, 2009.
As the DOC determined that it was not practicable to complete the preliminary results of this administrative review within the original time limit because the DOC requires additional time to analyze questionnaire responses, issue supplemental questionnaires, conduct verification, and to evaluate surrogate value submissions for purposes of the preliminary results.
Therefore, the preliminary results will now be due no later than June 30, 2009. The final results continue to be due 120 days after the publication of the preliminary results.
