On Monday, February 2, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the extension of the time limit for the preliminary results of the administrative review of the antidumping (AD) duty order against certain stainless steel bar from Brazil.

On March 31, 2008, the DOC initiated an administrative review of the AD duty order on stainless steel bar from Brazil with respect to one respondent, Villares Metals S.A. (Villares). On October 27, 2008, the DOC extended the time period for issuing the preliminary results of the review by 90 days until January 29, 2009.

Accordingly, the DOC has determined that completion of the preliminary results of the review was not practicable until the current deadline of January 29, 2009, for several reasons. Therefore, the DOC has extended the time period for issuing the preliminary results of the review by 30 days until February 28, 2009.

The period of review is February 1, 2007 through January 31, 2008.
