US cut-length plate exports fall 28.9 percent in April

US exports of cut-length plate totaled 73,398 mt in April, down 28.9 percent from March and down 13.7 percent from April 2016 levels. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $70.3 million in April, compared to $95.8 million in the previous month and $76.6 million the same month last year.
 
The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Canada in April, with 40,880 mt, compared to 46,041 mt in March and 51,885 mt in April 2016. Other top destinations included Mexico, with 30,936 mt. There were no other notable (over 1,000 mt) destinations for US cut-length plate exports in April.
