US cut-length plate exports up 2.9 percent in August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 102,119 mt in August 2023, up 2.9 percent from July and up 0.4 percent from August 2022. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $167.6 million in August, compared to $157.0 million in the previous month and $187.0 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in August with 64,438 mt, compared to 67,415 mt in July and 59,912 mt in August 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 31,172 mt; Australia, with 2,221 mt; and Sweden, with 1,285 mt.
