US cut-length plate exports down 9.5 percent in September

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cut-length plate totaled 82,641 mt in September 2023, down 19.1 percent from August and down 12.2 percent from September 2022. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $141.2 million in September, compared to $167.6 million in the previous month and $162.7 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in September with 49,219 mt, compared to 64,438 mt in August and 60,796 mt in September 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 24,979 mt; Australia, with 3,015 mt; and India, with 1,937 mt.
