US cut-length plate exports down 7.5 percent in July

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports cut-length plate totaled 99,277 mt in July 2023, down 7.5 percent from June but up 3.2 percent from July 2022. By value, cut-length plate exports totaled $157.0 million in July, compared to $170.8 million in the previous month and $178.6 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most cut-length plate to Mexico in July with 67,415 mt, compared to 73,424 mt in June and 55,724 mt in July 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 27,505 mt; and Brazil, with 2,655 mt.
